Applications are currently open for Inclusion Camp Counsellor for Summer 2026. Qualifications: - Current holder of Standard First Aid/CPR-C - Vulnerable Sector Screening - High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development - Demonstrated ability and education in area of specialty preferred - Access to reliable transportation - Safe Management certification is an asset - Full Attendance at Pre-Camp Training (Monday to Friday, full days the last week of June) Rate/Hour: varies Inclusion Camp Counsellor (Inclusion Camp Assistant I) $19.10 Location: City Wide Schedule: varies This position is to fill a vacancy. Responsibilities: - Implement a safe, enjoyable, and diverse camp program that supports participant needs, fostering skill development, self-esteem, and wellness. - Ensure the safety of all campers during camp hours through detailed attendance tracking, emergency response, and site inspections. - Maintain supply and equipment inventory to effectively operate quality programming. - Actively participate in training to build a well-trained staff team. - Support camp staff with behavior management as needed. - Maintain effective communication with participants, patrons, the public, and City staff. - Model professionalism by being punctual, attentive, and engaged. - Train staff in area of specialty when necessary. - Lead camper groups, active supervision during breaks/lunch/swim rotation/before & after care when necessary. - Encourage campers to embrace the 5 Principles of Healthy Child Development - Fulfill other duties as requested by Full-Time Staff and Senior Camp Staff and assume roles of Inclusion Camp Counsellor.
