About this Course

Delivered in partnership with Engineering for Kids. Congratulations! You’ve been hired as a mechanical engineer, and your first assignment is to engineer the most fun playground in your community! Playgrounds are packed full of simple machines such as levers, wheels and axles, inclined planes, and pulleys. Learn all about these simple machines that make playground swings, spring riders and see saws work, by tackling fun robotics and coding challenges using the engineering design process.
